Atmospheric Sciences B.S. Degree

The Atmospheric Sciences B.S. degree is designed to prepare students for diverse and rewarding careers. We offer five career concentrations: National Weather Service, Broadcasting, Private Industry, Climate Change, and Graduate School. Our concentrations provide specialized courses to develop knowledge and skills tailored to each student’s career interests. Students generally choose one or more career concentration(s) during their sophomore year.

Student Learning Outcomes

Students who earn the degree of Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Sciences will:

  1. Apply fundamental mathematical and physical concepts to the analysis and understanding of atmospheric science related events
  2. Correctly analyze atmospheric science data and develop a scientifically based weather forecast
  3. Use technology to manage, display, and analyze digitized geophysical data
  4. Effectively present atmospheric science concepts to knowledgeable audiences
