Mission Location: South of Gruver, TX
Description:
CAMA-C deployed on the target storm south of Gruver TX. By the time V2 had arrived, the storm had produced a cone tornado and 5.5 inch hail. From the vantage point of CAMA (with NOXP), there was some ragged lowering, but nothing strong or tight. The visual characteristics of the mesocyclone degraded with time. The storm moved NE with time, producing multiple mesocyclones. None were visually impressive. Visibility was marginal and the storm had HP characteristics. It also produced significant outflow. Other cells initiated along the front reinforcing the cold pool.
HD video and DSLR imagery were collected by all three photogrammetry teams.
