Mission Location: Kingfisher, OK
Description:
CAMA-C deployed on an HP supercell that initiated along/behind a cold pool boundary left behind by an early morning MCS that moved eastward through northern OK. All three CAM teams deployed multiple times on the storm. An early funnel was observed by CAMA and CAMC while the storm was still maturing. As the storm grew into an HP supercell and storm motion became faster, the CAM deployments were in areas of poor visibility (very rain-wrapped hook) and for short durations. Reports of a tornado and attendant damage were noted 5 miles north of Kingfisher. This tornado was not observed by any of the CAM teams owing to the large amounts of precipitation in the hook.
HD video was collected by all three teams.
