Tornadic Winds

The Fujita Scale (F scale) is no longer used to estimate tornadic wind speeds based on the damage produced:

SCALE WIND SPEED DAMAGE
F0 less than 72 MPH Light - tree branches broken
F1 73-112 MPH Moderate- trees snapped
F2 113-157 MPH Considerable - large trees uprooted
F3 158-206 MPH Severe- cars overturned
F4 207-260 MPH Devastating - frame houses destroyed
F5 greater than 261 MPH Incredible - not much survives an F5

Instead, we use the EF (Enhanced Fujita) scale:
